Rapid HIV Tests

Rapid HIV testing overcomes a major obstacle in HIV diagnosis. Delivering results in 20 minutes means that people no longer have to wait up to two weeks or return to the testing site to get their results. With traditional HIV tests in typical populations, up to a third of people tested never return to get their results — so treatment is delayed or never begins at all. Rapid HIV testing is a less stressful, more convenient way for people to learn their HIV status.

Calypte’s low-cost rapid HIV tests feature a simple, easy-to-use format that is suitable for use in point-of-care settings in remote locations. Calypte offers three different rapid HIV tests that can detect HIV antibodies using oral fluid, blood or urine as specimen samples.
