AWARE™ HIV-1/2 U

Urine HIV Test

Aware™ HIV-1/2 U

The Aware™ HIV-1/2 U (urine) test is a single-use, qualitative, visually read, in vitro immunoassay for the detection of antibodies to human immunodeficiency virus Type 1 (HIV-1) and Type 2 (HIV-2) in human urine specimens. The Aware™ HIV-1/2 U test is intended for use as a diagnostic aid in the clinical diagnosis of HIV infection. It can be used as a component of a multitest rapid HIV testing algorithm in conjunction with other approved HIV antibody assays.

The Aware™ HIV-1/2 U (urine) HIV test was developed as an additional alternative to current blood testing methods where oral fluid specimens are not readily available. It’s ideally suited for clinical or professional use in resource-constrained settings or for settings already doing urine collection for other testing, and facilitates efficient group counseling and testing.

Aware™ HIV-1/2 U is not currently available in the United States.
