HIV Blood Test
The Aware™ HIV-1/2 BSP test is a single-use, qualitative, visually read, in vitro immunoassay for the detection of antibodies to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Type 1 (HIV-1) and Type 2 (HIV-2) in human whole-blood (obtained by finger-stick or venous draw) serum or plasma specimens. The Aware™ HIV-1/2 BSP test is intended for use as a point-of-care aid in the clinical diagnosis of HIV infection. It can be used as a component of a multi-test rapid HIV testing algorithm in conjunction with other approved HIV antibody assays.
The Aware™ HIV-1/2 BSP test is a simple, economical product that enables Calypte to serve markets where HIV blood testing remains the norm.
The Aware™ HIV-1/2 BSP test is approved for use in many countries worldwide. It is not currently available in the United States.
