Aware Messenger™

The Aware Messenger™ oral fluid sampling device is intended for the collection, stabilization, and transport of quality oral fluid specimens to be used for the detection of specific antibodies or analytes.  The Aware Messenger™ device enables the use of oral fluid samples, which are easy to collect and transport, with laboratory-based assays offering high throughput batch processing, automation, quantitative results, and lower costs.*  

The Aware Messenger™ oral fluid collection system is derived from the collection system  developed for Calypte’s Aware™ HIV-1/2 OMT rapid test where it has been extensively field tested and demonstrated its capability to consistently collect a quality, IgG-rich oral fluid sample.  Unlike other oral fluid collection devices, the Aware Messenger™ system utilizes a soft and comfortable swab that contains no salts, animal proteins or other additives that can interfere with assays or give an adverse taste.  Additionally the sample buffer used in the Aware Messenger™ system is formulated with immunoassay-friendly components at appropriate levels facilitating assay optimization and improving performance.

• Stabilizing agents in the sample buffer can provide for excellent specimen stability (for example, specific antibodies have been shown to be stable in specimens for at least 3 weeks at 37°C)

• Typically Provides more than  1 mL of usable specimen for laboratory analysis

• Samples arrive at lab ready for use with no need for additional processing;  Neither centrifugation nor filtration is required
